Where is the studio located?
We’re located on Queen Street West in a private studio. The address is shared when you book—think of it as a hidden gem just for you.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Appointments only, please! This helps us give you all the attention you deserve.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
We ask that you limit your guest to one person, as our space is small. This helps us maintain a calm, safe environment for your piercing process. Plus, keeping things quieter ensures we can all focus fully on you—and we want that process to be as smooth and distraction free as possible.
Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
We are genuinely sorry, but our current space isn’t wheelchair accessible. We know this is disappointing, and we’re actively working on a new space that will be—unfortunately, Toronto’s rental costs are a challenge. We’re committed to making Show Pony more inclusive, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

How do I know what size jewelry I need?
This isn’t something I can accurately answer online, as it depends on your anatomy and piercing placement. However, you can refer to the Measuring Body Jewelry Size Chat for general guidance. If you’re still unsure, I’d be happy to assist during an appointment.
What is the difference between internally, externally threaded, and threadless jewelry?
• Internally threaded jewelry has a smooth post with there threading inside, making it safer and more comfortable to insert, especially in healing piercings.
• Externally threaded jewelry has threading on the outside of the post, which can cause irritation during insertion and isn’t ideal for fresh piercings.
• Threadless jewelry uses a pin on the decorative end that’s held in place by tension inside the post. Unlike threaded jewelry, it doesn’t need to be tightened, but it’s important to periodically check the tension to snore the pin hasn't;t lost its bend. If it feels loose, gently adjust the pin by bending it slightly to restore a secure fit.
How often should I change my jewelry?
Wait until your piercing is fully healed before changing your jewelry. Once healed, change it as often as you like, provided you use safe materials, and proper techniques.
What is anodized titanium?
Anodizing isa process that changes the colour of titanium without coatings or dyes, creating vibrant and durable jewelry options.
What do I do if my jewelry gets stuck?
Don’t force it. Use a tool like labret tweezers or contact your piercer for assistance.
Can I sleep with my jewelry in?
Yes, but it’s important to minimize pressure on your piercings, especially for healing ones. If you’re a side sleeper with healing piercings, a piercing pillow can help. These pillows have a hole int he centre, allowing your ear to rest comfortable, which can reduce irritation and discomfort and also help move the healing process along.

We offer a variety of piercings to suit every style. For a full list of available piercings and their costs, check out of Piercing Menu.
What is the age requirement for a piercing?
You must be at least 16 years old with valid government issued photo ID. For children’s lobes, the minimum age is 8. There are several videos on Youtube—just be sure to watch the video first before showing your child to make sure it’s appropriate for them.

Absolutely not! We are all about the needle here—it’s safer, more precise, and way cooler. Plus, it means your healing process will be much smoother.
How long will my piercing take to heal?
Healing times can vary, and every body heals differently. We’ll give you all the details after your appointment. Don’t worry, we’ve got your back (and your piercing) with aftercare tips to keep it happy and healthy.

I went to a piercing studio and they won’t put in my new jewelry.
Did they explain why? If you bring in a labret post to put in your navel piercing, they’re probably going to decline. But if you need help putting your new septum jewelry into your six month old septum piercing, you’re probably in luck. Remember: A good piercer sticks to standards—and that’s a good thing!
I went to a piercing studio and they charged a fee to insert my jewelry.
It might feel a little surprising, but it’s all about keeping things safe and sanitary. Even for something as simple as changing out navel jewelry, your piercer needs to sterilize everything they use—gloves, tools, bibs, cleansers. Keeping the space clean for your safety—and the next customer’s—is essential. If a studio charges up to $25 for this service, it’s totally reasonable. Think your piercer went the extra mile? A little extra tip never hurts! Of course you can always swap out jewelry at home with fewer supplies, but if you want a pro to handle it, you’ll want to pay for their expertise.
Why is there a piece of jewelry on your website that is cheaper at my local studio?
If you have a great quality studio nearby, we definitely encourage you to support them! The jewelry on our site is priced according to the standards set by our suppliers. With over 10 years experience in the piercing world, we’re committed to supporting good piercers everywhere and not undercutting them. Quality is important, and we’re all about it!
